Introduction to
Department of Labor
and Social Security(DLSS£© |
Being one of the earliest universities
which start the social security teaching and research
in the whole country, our university first began this
field in the graduate¡¯s majoring of national economics
in 1986, while in 1989 started to national widely recruit
undergraduate students majoring in labor resources and
social security specification which became labor and
social security major in 1993. According to the adjustment
of national major catalogue, our university is entitled
to be one of the eight universities to recruit students
majoring in the subject.
Department of Labor and Social Security consists of
two teaching and research sections---one is Social Security
and the other is Labor Economics. Also Social Security
Research Institution, Labor Economics Research Institution
and Labor Resources Research Center have been set up,
as well as Reference Room and Simulated Lab of Social
Security Fund Information Management System.
The subject system is enriched by multiple majors---social
security, labor economics and human resources management
etc., with an organic training system from Bachelor
to Master to Ph.D. As for undergraduates, we have two
majors---Labor and Social Security as well as Human
Resources Management. For graduates, we have four---Labor
Economics, Social Security, Enterprises Management (Human
Resources Development and Management), and National
Economics. Labor Economics and National Economics are
the doctorate majors. We attach great importance on
the teaching, research and social application, having
harmonious cooperation with the Ministry of National
Labor and Social Security, the Ministry of Personnel,
the Economic and Trade Committee, the friend universities
and scientific research institutions as well as many
enterprises. Also we have academic exchange and cooperation
with some universities in the U.S, Canada, the Netherlands
etc.
We have strong and qualified teachers, with high degrees,
rational age structure and strong scientific research
ability. Among the present 26 teachers, 80% are professors
and associate professors, 3 of which are doctorate tutors.
The subject system has been built under the leadership
and the effort of the following professors: doctorate
tutors---Prof. Zhao Man, Prof. Yang Yunyan and Prof.
Chen Quanming, the department director---associate Prof.
Wang Changcheng, the main academic backbone---Prof.
Zhang Huaifu, Prof. Ma Zhenjie, associate Prof. Yuan
Heping etc. These years, we have finished over 30 ministerial
and provincial research topics of national social science
and natural social science, with more than 30 academic
workings and books published, with 10 winning the ministerial
and provincial prize, with nearly 600 articles published
respectively on Economic Research, China Labor, Finance
and Trade Research, Finance Research, Investment Research,
China Human Resources Development, Government Capital,
Macro-Economic Research, Economic Daily, China Reform
etc. Many teachers also hold concurrent posts as members
of some committees or councils and are appointed as
special professors, who provide consulting service for
some governmental departments and enterprises.
We pay much attention to train students basic theories,
elementary knowledge and skills, as well as the research
and creative capacity of students. With over 600 advanced
talents graduated here, we are at the forefront of the
teaching and research institutes in south-central district
concerning the comprehensive strength, which influences
much in the whole country.
